8 REASONS WHY HOMESTAYS ARE CHEAP PLACES TO STAY

Homestays are nothing but spare rooms rented to the visitors in one’s own house. If you want to have a more comprehensible view of homestays then read: What is Homestay | All About Homestay Business

Since these rooms were not being used by the family members so now, turning them into lodgings can only be remunerative. The investment cost is not too high so the hosts don’t have to find different ways to charge the visitors to cover up the investment costs. This is just one of the reasons why homestays are cheap places to stay.  Stick around till I tell you more.

LOWER CHARGES

Homestays charge less than the hotels. One of the reasons is the low investment cost. In a homestay the cost of acquiring land and manufacturing is excluded. The only investment is renovation of the room and inclusion of basic amenities. Which is not very heavy on the pocket. This results in low charges of the room. Another reason is that a homestay is usually chosen for a longer duration stay so if they will keep the charges very high it will ruin the purpose of homestays.

INEXPENSIVE DELICIOUS FOOD

The hotels offer you an array of cuisine. The price of the dishes present on the menu increases with increase in the frill of the dishes. The cooking is done in bulk as there are hundreds of visitors staying in the hotel, which is very much similar to eating out. On the other hand homestays offer you delicious home cooked food. Healthy and hygienic. This is the type of local food for which you would pay a good amount happily. In homestay you get it with lodging.

ACCESS TO MORE SPACE AT A LESSER PRICE

In a  hotel you get access to your room only or if there is a small balcony attached to your room then you can use the balcony. Whereas the houses used for homestay are generally spacious. You will have your room, can enjoy the mornings on the terrace. For evening tea you can sit in the small garden. Altogether, you will have access to more space at a lesser price.

DON’T HAVE TO SHARE THE MAINTENANCE CHARGE OF THE ENTIRE BUILDING

Hotels are huge buildings with every room used as an accommodation. They have to spend a fortune for its maintenance and other bills like electricity bills and water bills. These expenses are covered up by the lodging charges. In a homestay the maintenance cost is not very high as there are only a few rooms available for renting out. So you are safe from those charges.

NO NEED TO PAY TIP

There is a certain unspoken routine of paying the tip to the room service. Tipping the one who takes care of your luggage, tip to the waiter when you have a meal and so on, in a hotel. While in a homestay you don’t pay a tip for anything especially for the meal. If you dare to do so you will end up offending the hosts. This is another way you save money.

NO UNNECESSARY HIDDEN CHARGES

A hotel pays too much attention to surfacing. Fancy and luxury are two key features of a hotel. There are also a number of bougie items present in a hotel room that are not even needed by some people but they have to pay for them. In contrast, a homestay is more like a home. You will only have what you need. No unnecessary luxurious items will be there to add up to your charges convincing that homestays are cheap places to stay.

CAN PLAN A LOW-PRICED TRIP TO FAMOUS TOURIST SPOTS

When you are in a hotel you get some set packages from them. These packages include a guide, a car and  only the most common tourist attractions. You will never see the true colors of a city through that. Whereas in a homestay you live with the locals they will give you the true insight of the city. They will help you to go to the places where tourists, following the mob, can never reach. And I’m sure you don’t want to miss that. For all this you will have to pay the minimum. Sometimes you don’t even have to pay anything, the hosts, if they are generous enough, will take you with them for a friendly trip.

BEAUTIFUL AMBIENCE WITHOUT PAYING MUCH MONEY

Homestays are generally situated away from the urban crowd. You can find yourself amid a beautiful environment. The houses are near semi-rural or rural settlements so you will get to see a lot of greenery. People would like to pay a good amount these days to get to live in such a peaceful environment. If you live in a homestay you will get all this at a very affordable price. A hotel, on the other hand is situated in the city near the urban settlements. The environment can be really noisy sometimes.
